Dear Gardening Friends & Plant Lovers
While Plantjotter is set up to be your personal and private space to keep track of gardening activity, I am making my site public so you can see an example in use. Here is a brief description of what you’ll see.
- I use the task creator to schedule activities and reminders for the weeks and months ahead. A calendar view of tasks is also provided (but not available in the example journal). You can also elect to receive email reminders of your upcoming tasks.
- I use the journal entries to jot down inspirations, observations and reflections, often attaching photos or links to helpful resources.
- I track plant lists by location. As a subscriber, when you select a perennial plant on your plant list and you’ll see a care sheet tab. Care sheets provide maintenance tasks / reminders of what to do when. You can select a task and add it to your personal task calendar.
- I attach photos, documents and links to all areas and I use tag words in all my entries no matter what section. This is particularly helpful when wanting to recall or search past information. I also use tag words to create photo albums.
Just a note about our plant database - it contains over 3,600 plants and allows you to easily create your personal plant lists by location. If you don’t see your plant or specific cultivar you can request to add it to the database while at the same time adding to your personal list.
